SCENE 1 “Look, dude, people need to understand who we are, and what better way than to show them exactly why we named our tag team what we did? We’re essentially an enigma to everyone except for my match at Roulette against Johnny Hotness.”
The scene opened up to show NLW’s newest tag team sensations, Jason Cruze and Jackie Williams. The two of them seemed to be enjoying the advantages of Sonic Drive-In’s half priced shakes, along with some burgers and fries as the camera fuzzed into focus. As Cruze finished speaking, he picked up his Super Sonic Cheeseburger and shoved it into his mouth, taking a huge bite out of it and chewing.
Jackie Williams: “I get what you’re saying, but I just don’t like the idea of driving so long. I’d rather go skydiving instead.”
Jackie replied as he opened his packet of barbecue sauce and dipped his fries in it before eating them, and washed them down with a sip of his Oreo Cheesecake shake as Jason chimed in once more. Jason Cruze: “I know, but think about it. We live in Vegas now. There will be plenty of time for that crap later. I’m all for getting my adrenaline on, know what I mean? But, let’s really introduce ourselves in a big way to the fans and the rest of NLW. They need to really know who the hell we are, and taking this road trip is a perfect way to do that.” Cruze seemed to completely forget about his Super Sonic Cheeseburger, after having lowered it to speak. He zoned out just a bit as he thought about the idea of driving three and a half hours just to cut a killer promo. Jackie, on the other hand, seemed to be enjoying his Bacon Cheeseburger Toaster and Barbecue Sauce dipped fries as he listened to his tag partner speak.
“Besides, think about the shenanigans we can get into!”
Jackie took a second to laugh as he finally finished the last of his burger, with maybe three or four fries left. He wiped his mouth with his napkin and took a sip of his milkshake before he replied. As he began to speak, Jason remembered about his food. While he held his Super Sonic Cheeseburger, he grabbed a tater tot and popped it up in the air and perfectly caught it in his mouth without a care in the world.
Jackie Williams: “Okay, but where is this place? I don’t want to be in Buttfuck, Nevada or some place weird.”
As he finished chewing a smirk broke across Cruze’s handsome features, this was the part he was sure Jackie was going to like.
Jason Cruze: “Cali, dude.”
Jackie looked out over the people that were sitting around him, and noticed that the women there were okay but nothing too appeasing. As he turned back to face Jason, he replied. Jackie Williams: “Alright, dude, but I call dibs on Paris and Nicole…”
This forced a laugh from Jason as his eyes followed where Jackie’s eyes had been, checking out the girls at the other table. Yeah, he knew Jackie definitely wouldn’t be disappointed.
Jason Cruze: “They’re yours, but even if we don’t run into celebs, I can guarantee you the girls in Cali are top tier.”
As Cruze moved to take another bite of his Super Sonic Cheeseburger, he was cut off by the sound of a third voice.
“Hey, what’s up, guys?”
Jason’s eyes followed the sound of the voice to see some dude he thought looked familiar from somewhere, but couldn’t quite put his finger on it. How could he forget that pompadour hair due? Well, somehow he had. Ironically, as he was looking at the dude’s ridiculous hair due, this stranger decided to pat it down gently. Jason Cruze: “Can we help you?” Jason said this with a raised eyebrow obviously showing his confusion. Yes, some people recognized him, but it wasn’t a common occurrence mainly due to the fact that NLW had only had one show. Jackie wasn’t too pleased at the person coming up either, though he actually knew who it was. Still, Jackie forged a fake smile.
Jackie Williams: “Hey Darius… you get that interview you wanted?”
Jackie asked, having slightly talked to Darius in the past. Darius hung his head just a bit as he shook it no, as a carhop made her way out to Darius and handed him his food. Jackie reached over and grabbed the new CinnaSnack bites.
“Newbies lose their snacks, it’s a rule.” Jason Cruze: “Oh? That’s a thing. In that case…”
Darius looked a little shocked. Not wanting to be completely rude, Jackie only took one of the five and popped it in his mouth. He then washed it down with his shake, but Jason decided he wanted one as well so he snatched one from the five as well and handed the box back to Darius.
Darius Jordan: “Maybe you guys could give me the interview.”
Jackie Williams: “Well, gee, Darius, we’d love to but we can’t.”
Jason Cruze: “You heard him.”
Darius Jordan: “Why not, guys?”
Jackie simply got up and went to the menu board where he placed in another order for some chili cheese tots with onions and jalapenos, as well as some more shakes before he sat back down to finally answer. Meanwhile, Jason finished his burger, more or less, ignoring Darius for the moment.
Jackie Williams: “Don’t take this personally, dude, but you’re kind of lame… and you would totally mess up our game plan.”
Darius Jordan: “But…” Jason Cruze: “No ifs, ands, or buts. We need to get headed out.”
Darius Jordan: “Can’t I come with you guys?”
Cruze’s eyes focused on Darius, once again, getting stuck on that ridiculous pompadour hair due. He shook his head with a slight irritation.
Jason Cruze: “Fine, fine, but you have to stay out of the way. Not to mention, Jackie or myself get all-time shotgun depending on who is driving. Your ass stays in the back. Got it?”
As Jason finished speaking, he crumpled up the wrapper that the Super Sonic Cheeseburger had been in then tossed it in his Sonic bag. Just then, the carhop came out with the rest of the food and Jackie laughed as he stood up and accepted the food and drinks.
Jackie Williams: “Also, this round is on you… and you better tip!”
He said as he started to head towards the rental car the two pitched in on together to save some money. As he did, Jason grabbed his trash and crushed it all into a ball then stood up and took a jump shot with perfect form. Swoosh! The trash went in perfectly. His eyes looked over at Darius for a split moment as the dude paid the carhop and tipped her.
Jason Cruze: “Come on, you’re holding up progress.”
With that, Cruze walked off toward the rental as well, leaving Darius paying the girl.
“Better hurry or we’re leaving you!”
Darius began to rush now, stumbling over the money until finally he finished giving her the money and the tip. Afterward, he ran off toward the car as the scene faded out.
SCENE 2 The surrounding area outside of the car was covered with nothing but rocks, sand, and cacti. A trail of sand was kicked up behind SR-71 Express’ rental vehicle, sending a tail of dust soaring behind them. Jason Cruze was driving and Jackie Williams was sitting shotgun while Darius Jordan found himself huddled in the back seat. He was sitting forward in his seat between the driver’s seat and the passenger’s seat so he could talk to the two men that were up front.
Darius Jordan: “So where are we headed, guys?”
Jackie, who was leaned back and just enjoying the ride, looked back at Darius and raised an eyebrow.
Jackie Williams: “I thought we said no getting in our way?”
Jackie joked a little before turning back around. Truth was he didn’t know exactly where they were going, just that it was in California and had one of the SR-71s on the airstrip. Jason Cruze: “Guys, just sit back and enjoy the ride.”
Cruze was enjoying the ride. It always was more enjoyable for the one driving the car.
Darius Jordan: “Can I at least ask you guys some questions while we’re on the road? I mean, we’re gonna’ be stuck in here together for a while anyway.”
Jason and Jackie look over at one another almost in unison as if seeing if the other was okay with him doing that. With an insync nod, Jason answered the question. Jason Cruze: “Yeah, whatever. Go ahead.”
With almost too much excitement on his face, Darius instantly grabbed out his pen and notepad, but then decided that it would be easier to keep up if he just typed it, so he put it back in favor of his Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Instantly, with a grin on his face, he began.
Darius Jordan: “So my first question is, what is it that made you two realize this team would work? Was it something in your abilities, or was it more of a hunch?”
Upon hearing the question, Jason glanced over at his tag team partner then back at the road. He spoke up while keeping his eyes directed on the desert road ahead. Jason Cruze: “I guess you could call it a hunch ‘cause I’ve never actually seen Jackie wrestle other than some of his independent stuff. I have seen the guy tear up the football field which helped me realize that he was the kind of guy that would have the speed and power that our tag team would need.”
Jackie nodded as Jason responded, and then followed up with a reply of his own.
Jackie Williams: “Not to mention, when you have two people who are known to be ‘High Velocity’ and ‘High Octane’ you are only asking for either an implosion or a uniting. And since the NLW had no tag teams worthy of being called champions, we both knew that it was an instant uniting of a soon to be great tag team!” The sound of Darius clicking as he typed in the responses drove the two in front a bit crazy but they could tell that Darius was enjoying this.
Darius Jordan: “So why did you decide on SR-71 Express? Aren’t those like super fast and go super high?”
Jason Cruze: “Like super-fast and go super-high? Did an eight-year-old write these questions, Darius? To answer your question, yes, we both possess speed and the ability to dazzle with our aerial attacks. Last Roulette, I was able to show off a bit of my speed against Johnny Hotness, but that wasn’t even an inkling of what I can actually do. Along with using the name of such a high speed jet, we also wanted to show respect for the old school tag teams of wrestling by putting ‘express’ at the end of the tag team. Like US Express, Midnight Express, and the Orient Express.”
Jackie Williams: “And of course, we can’t forget the Rock & Roll Express… easily the second hottest tag team of all time.”
Darius Jordan: “What’s the first?”
Jackie Williams: “SR-71 Express, duh.”
Jackie replied with a chuckle of confidence as Darius Jordan shook his head a bit. He continued typing into his notepad, this time turning the volume on mute so that Jackie and Jason didn’t hear it.
Darius Jordan: “Alright, this one is for Jason but feel free to answer too, Jackie. Why didn’t you just try to go after Defecto’s Nevada State or even the NLW Heavyweight Championships? A lot of our internet fans are saying you’re afraid of the competition.”
Jason Cruze: “First off, Darius, I don’t know what IWC you’re keeping up with, but I get a lot of praises over the Interwebs. Regardless, I have no issue going against Defecto or even going after the NLW Heavyweight Championship for that matter, but the fact of the matter is, I want to make my first impact in the Tag Team Division. Either one of us could hold our own in singles competition, but we want to prove we can do that in Tag Team competition too. What people don’t realize is that just because someone is good in singles competition, doesn’t necessarily mean they translate well over to Tag Team competition. Just because I’m focusing on SR-71 Express, doesn’t mean, given the opportunity, I wouldn’t try to take down the Nevada State Champion or become the first NLW Heavyweight Champion.”
Jackie Williams: “Not to mention, the ways of tag team wrestling have seemingly been lost on people. They think that just because we’re not gunning for singles titles momentarily, that we’re not going to be able to put up a fight when it matters. That’s not the case at all. Jason and I are both capable of handling our own out there. But just like in football, when you work together as a united team; there’s nothing that can take you down. Except, of course, SR-71 Express.” The two men chuckled at another one of Jackie’s humble brags as Darius jotted down the remaining lines from Jackie before he continued.
Darius Jordan: “So what does that mean for your match this week? Are you looking to utilize this as more of a showcase of your talents, or to boost you in line for the Tag Team Titles?”
Jackie Williams: “I would like to say it’s more of us getting the final pieces together as a unit. Sure, we would love to be champions and showcase our talents. But we can only do that once we’ve become a unit that’s unstoppable. And that all begins at Roulette against… uh… Who are they again?”
Darius Jordan: “Oh, uh, Mike Smith and Christian Taylor.” Jason Cruze: “Honestly, Darius, it doesn’t matter who it is. Ever since we agreed to be a team, we’ve been working alongside one another to build our chemistry as a tag team. Once Roulette rolls around, everyone is going to witness just how successful we have been in that aspect.”
All the way, Jason’s eyes remained to the front. Darius was working hard in the back to take note of each and everything Jason and Jackie had to say.
Darius Jordan: “You two do realize that Christian Taylor and Mike Smith have been teaming together for a while, and are members of the stable known as Power Trip, right? How are you going to game plan when you have possibly 4 others who could ruin your strategy?”
Ready with an answer, Cruze chimed in as he looked up into the rearview mirror to look into Darius’ eyes for just a moment before returning his gaze to the road.Jason Cruze: “Darius, have you ever been apart of a tag team?”
With another glance into the rearview mirror, Jason could see Darius shake his head as he muttered “no.”
“I didn’t think so. While a strategy helps, it sometimes it’s more important to just live in the moment. Yes, they might bring an army against us, but just like those famous 300 against unbelievable odds, we will stand against Power Trip whether there are two or six of them down at that ring.”
Jackie Williams: “Jason’s right, Darius. You can’t just go in there worrying about the what-if factors, because that’s how you get beat. You have to deal with what you know, and what we know is that Christian Taylor and Mike Smith are our first opponents. What we also know is that they’re not faster than us, they’re not as willing to take risks as us, and they’re definitely not as focused as us. And come Roulette, we’re going to prove it… just like the greatest tag teams always do, and will continue to do as this great sport continues on.”
Darius Jordan: “Well, then…”
Before Darius could even form the rest of his sentence, Jason cut him off with a bit of an annoyed tone to his voice.
Jason Cruze: “I’m about done with Twenty Questions. We can continue this crap later. Music time.”
With that, Cruze reached over and turned up the volume to the radio. “Panama” by Van Halen is on which obviously made Jason happy because he grinned then put the pedal to the metal, sending the car accelerating faster down the long, lonely, desert highway...

Post by "High Octane" Jackie Williams on Jun 2, 2014 21:15:38 GMT -5
The scene opens up to show Darius Jordan along with the members of SR-71 Express, Jason Cruze and Jackie Williams. Both SR-71 Express members are clad in their chosen street clothes while Darius is dressed up in a ridiculous argyle pattern t-shirt. Behind them are two massive black jets. Both seem to look about the same, but they aren’t quite the same as one is actually faster than the other. Each of those jets, though, goes by the moniker the “Blackbird.” One of them is the famous SR-71 Blackbird. In the background, behind the proverbial fourth wall, the sound of more roaring Jet Engines can be heard in the distance as they take their practice runs.
Darius Jordan: “Ladies and gentlemen of the NLW Fandom, I am your favorite host, Darius…”
Jackie Williams: “What the hell?”
Darius Jordan stops his sentence as Jackie pierces through the dark tint of his aviators and at Darius with a stern look while Jason does much of the same except through his flat-black Spy shades. He shakes his head slowly, making Darius feel kind of dumb. A troubled look crosses the interviewer’s visage as Jackie begins speaking once more.
Jackie Williams: “Since when are you anybody’s favorite host? Start over, this time with honesty.”
Darius looks confused by this as he felt the opening was going great. Jackie takes his stance back to how it was, and motions for Darius to continue. Darius looks at the camera and does just that.
Darius Jordan: “Ladies and gentlemen of the NLW Fandom, I am your host at this time Darius Jordan. And joining me, are the two hottest high fliers in the world today; Jason Cruze and Jackie Williams, SR-17 Express.”
Darius looks at Jackie to see if it was good enough, and Jackie doesn’t make any motions or insinuate that it wasn’t bad, but he does look over at Jason to see how he feels about the new introduction. A light movement of Jason’s mouth implies that it would do in his opinion. Feeling the minor accomplishment feeling wash over him, Darius nods and turns to face the two as he continues.
Darius Jordan: “Now, as the fans of NLW want to know is how do you feel about the match you’ve got coming up this week at Roulette?”
Jason takes a moment before he answers as he watches Darius closely from behind his black shades. With another shake of his head, he finally speaks.
Jason Cruze: “So we’re doing this again? Twenty questions with cards that your nephew, son, or whatever wrote up for you? How about we just cut this promo ourselves? What say you, Jackie?”
We can see Cruze’s eyebrow arch above his black shades as he directs his question toward Jackie Williams. Jackie looks at Cruze with an eyebrow raised of his own as he speaks up.
Jackie Williams: “Him having a son, would require a female touching him or wanting his seeds.”
Jackie half jokes about Darius Jordan’s sex life before lowering his eyebrow and extending his hand towards Darius, demanding the microphone. Reluctantly, Darius realizes that he’s not going to win this one so he hands it over to Jackie and walks off. Jackie shrugs and brings the microphone up to speak.
Jackie Williams: “Ladies, ladies, and ladies… you are now in the mix with DJ Wet Willy, and I am here with the amazing JC, but not THE JC. Now JC, how is it that you manage to stay awesome?”
This unexpected act draws a chuckle from Cruze before he answers. He figures he will play along though so he tips his shades down so that we can barely see his eyes over the flat-black Spy shades.
Jason Cruze: “Well, DJ Wet Willy, I’m glad you asked that question. If you watch the miracles I make happen in the ring, you’ll understand why my initials ARE, in fact, JC. Not claiming anything, but I am damn good. As for how I stay awesome, the truth is, it just comes natural. I fly high and fly fast. What more is there to say?”
Jackie, or apparently DJ Wet Willy, nods his head and strokes his pizza shaped goatee as Cruze answers the question. Finally, he brings the mic back to ask another question.
Jackie Williams: “Heh heh… DJ Wet Willy knows just what you mean. But for those who happen to be on the Rick Harris side of age, why don’t we slow it down a bit with this next one. Now, I’m under the impression that you have the 411 on the haps with these big black jets behind us, am I right?”
Both men take opposite steps to the allow the lens to view the jets between them as they look back while Jackie motions to the A-12 Blackbird and, more importantly, the SR-71 Blackbird.
Jason Cruze: “Most def. With all due respect to the A-12 Blackbird, we’re not here for it. What we’re here about is the SR-71 Blackbird. Sound familiar, kids? It should because DJ Wet Willy and yours truly make up NLW’s own SR-71 Express. I know what question lingers in your head though. If you’re not familiar with this great machine…”
Cruze motions specifically to one of the jets as both men move accordingly so that the SR-71 Blackbird has the focus of the camera lens.
“You really should get educated. The SR-71 Blackbird is known for its relentless speed and daring flight elevation. With a maximum speed of nearly 2200 Miles Per Hour and a maximum flight elevation of about 85,000 feet, there’s no doubt that this jet is one of the greatest of all time. What does that have to do with us? Do we really need to spell it out for you? Together, we are going to dazzle crowds by showing our unrelenting speed and daring acrobatics. There will be no doubt that we live up to our tag team’s name.”
The two men the get back into place as the camera lens changes focus back to them. Suddenly, another jet making its landing flies over them and their clothes begin to shake at the intensity. And while not a SR-71, it still shows just what Jason was talking about. DJ Wet Willy then turns back to his tag team partner and continues.
Jackie Williams: “Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but those two Power Trip Members… Christian Smith and Mike Taylor… are they able to run as fast as us, or even do the high impacts that we do?”
Having noticed that Jackie Williams “inadvertently” switched their opponents’ names up, Jason fights back a fit of laughter that threatens to overtake him before turning back to Jackie to answer his question.
Jason Cruze: “DJ Wet Willy, in all honesty, it doesn’t matter if they can run as fast as us or cause as much as damage as we can in the wrestling ring. What they’re actually going to find is that there is no conceivable way they could go the distance with SR-71 Express…”
Cruze pauses for a moment as he turns directly to the camera as he uses his finger to push his shades back to the bridge of his nose, covering his eyes once more. He then continues speaking once more.
“Power Trip, you might not realize it now. Hell, your ego is probably too damn big to let you realize it, but once you step into the ring Wednesday night, it’s going to hit you like a cruise missile and blow you away that SR-71 Express is NLW’s premier tag team.”
Jackie brings the microphone back to himself as the smile and happiness leaves his face. Taking off the aviators, he calls over Darius and tells him to hold both the glasses and microphone as he begins to speak himself.
Jackie Williams: “You see, boys, and believe me that’s what you are… while Jason and myself may look like a couple of guys that are all fun and games; what you don’t realize is that the counter reaction that comes with it. Because for every amount of quirk in our system, there’s just that much more of an atomic bomb waiting to go off. Separately, Jason and I could’ve gone through the laundry list. We could’ve become NLW Nevada State, Television, Heavyweight… or hell even UWL World Heavyweight Champions. And in due time, those accomplishments WILL come.”
Jackie says as he repositions himself so that he can continue speaking without the sun getting into his eyes.
Jackie Williams: “But as you see gentlemen, Jason and I came together as a unit for a common goal. The two of us know that in order to be considered the best, you have to do it all. And boys, winning tag team gold is just as impressive as winning singles gold. But of course, before we get to the gold; before we get to the championship round… we have to go through a bunch of moronic clowns. And the first set of clowns on the list just happen to be two no talent having wannabe wrestlers that can barely throw a punch, let alone keep up with demand it takes to defeat the two fastest, athletic, and most charismatic men in the wrestling world today. Gentlemen, at NLW Roulette, the only thing you’re going to get by the end of the night is NOT a victory, but rather the sour and bitter taste of defeat.”
Jackie says, over enunciating the final phrases to add greater emphasis as he turns the attention to his tag partner for him to add anything if he needs to. Naturally, he does have something else to say as he leans toward the camera, removing his shades as he smirks into the camera and speaks.
Jason Cruze: “That’s how we roll.”
With that, both men walk out of the camera’s view just in time for three Blue Angels to soar overhead, sending the sonic boom trailing down into the camera’s microphone as they scream past. The scene then slowly fades to a close...
